Product Groups

A Product Group is a reusable bag of items (and/or departments) you point rules at — "all my beers" — to scope size sets and target discounts without setting each item up individually.

Where to find it: Menu → Item Groups (the page itself is titled Product Groups)

Naming note: the sidebar calls this Item Groups and the page calls it Product Groups — they are the same thing. This guide uses "Product Group".


What you use a product group for

Once you've grouped items into a bag, you can:

  • Scope an Adjustment so a size set (e.g. Pot/Pint/Schooner) only applies to that bag (e.g. beers).
  • Target a Discount at everything in the bag at once.

Membership is flexible: a group can contain individual items and whole departments. Adding a department means every item in it is included automatically.


Add a product group

  1. Click Add Product Group.
  2. Fill in the details:
    Field Required What it's for
    Group Name Yes A clear name for the bag (e.g. "Coffee Products", "All Beers")
    Members Yes Search and add items and/or departments to the group
  3. Click Save.

Import and export

Use Download Template, Import, and Export to manage product groups in bulk.
