Surcharges

A Surcharge is a configurable amount added to an order — for example a public-holiday surcharge or a card surcharge — applied by rule.

Where to find it: Menu → Surcharges

Add a surcharge

  1. Click Add Surcharge.
  2. Fill in the details:
    Field Required What it's for
Surcharge Name Yes The name shown on the order (e.g. "Public Holiday Surcharge")
Application Type Yes Order (added to the order) or Payment (applied at payment, e.g. a card surcharge)
Rate Type How the surcharge is calculated (e.g. Percentage)
Rate Yes The value (0–100 for a percentage)
  3. Click Create Surcharge.

Edit a surcharge

Click a surcharge row to edit it.

Tip: use Order type for charges that apply to the whole order (e.g. a public-holiday loading) and Payment type for tender-specific charges (e.g. a card-payment surcharge). The rule you set determines when each surcharge is applied automatically.
